Hi there!!

I finally finished reading The Biotech Century book!!
After like almost a week or so reading it whenever I have the time
like during lunch at college which I don't go to of course as I was fasting
and also at night which I ended up sleeping after a while as I read it on my bed. lol!!
All in all I find the book superbly written although there was some parts that don't really make sense to me
but there was a whole lot of facts that really intrigued me in the book.
One of it was like the endless possibilities that biotechnologies have
in reconstructing our very own nature and also of all the living organisms including us!
There were a lot of questions put forward by the writer which gave a chance
for the reader to ponder by themselves of what the answer should be to that question.
The book is well written in such a way that the pros and cons of the biotech century is not biased
nor does his own opinion biased towards any of the sides.
Everything is really up to the reader whether to see The Biotech Century in a good way,
the bad way or even both as all actions do have its consequences one way or the other.

Ok enough said on the book
Moving on to the things that are currently revolving in my life.
Something like only 2 days left of fasting which then will be Hari Raya Celebrations!!!!!
Seriously can't wait for raya with all those delicious foods, family gatherings
and of course DUIT RAYA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! $_$
New baju melayu has been bought and this year I'm wearing purple.
Besides than that nothing much is done for raya preparation as usual
not like when I was small which we will be putting up pelita all around the house before raya
and play with firecrackers. Those times were precious. Good memories :)

Other than that, there will be a Chemistry test after raya
and by the way we only have 2 days of holidays as raya falls on sunday this year
so next week on thursday I'll be having the test and I need to study!!!!
Whatever it is I am so not studying during raya.
Though I hope I can for the sake of acing the test.huhu..

That is all for now. Bye!

Random Update

Posted by -NAZ-

Hey there!!!

This post is just a random post that I would like to share with you guys
on some of the things that I have done lately, what I'm currently doing and also
what I plan to do in the future.
  • As you all know I'm currently fasting and just recently my family and I went out to eat during the breaking of fast. This is so unusual because we have never went out to break fast before as far as I remember. We would usually buy some food at the Bazaar Ramadhan and eat at home. But we decided to break from the norm and eat at the House of Pakeeza which catered for indian foods. Throughout the fasting month there will be a buffet style eating during the break fast time. So it was quite delightful and totally satisfying. :)

  • I've been going out with my friends lately for a few times. Mostly to watch movies as always. Anyway last week we went out to Tropicana City Mall which is still new right after our lectures. There's nothing much there to begin with as its not that big. So we decided to watch District 9 at that time. I've been wanting to watch that movie like for ages already and finally had the chance to do so last week. Although the approach that was used to make the movie is a bit different than the usual and also the fact that its quite vulgar and damn brutal, but it lived up to my expectations as the story line was really great. It also made me think at how inhumane and cruel human beings like all of us can be.

  • Now on to the serious stuff. This whole month I need to complete my personal statement as in October there will be checking sessions with MABECS. So I went through the internet to read some of the samples that people wrote. There was this one which was really good and the person got into Oxford by using his personal statement. He wrote that he read a lot of reading materials relating to his course. So that is exactly what I'm trying to accomplish now! haha!! Bought two books and a whole bunch of New Scientist magazines to read.

  • Apart from that, I need to find some kind of exposure towards my course. So I wrote a letter to the Microbiology Laboratory at Universiti Malaya to apply for a study tour. This study tour would really benefit me as I can gain experience on something related to my course. I can also see the action going on in the lab first hand and I would definitely be able to write about what I learnt during the study tour in my ps.

Trip to Penang!

Posted by -NAZ-

Last Sunday my family and I went to Penang, but it's not much of a holiday trip actually.
Mainly because we went to Penang just to attend my cousin's wedding.
The wedding was held at the Seberang Perai not at the Penang island itself.

So yeah after meeting with all of the family members from my mother's side and watching the wedding ceremony commence, we did not went back to KL straight away.
Instead we booked a hotel at the Penang island that is The Gurney Hotel
to spend one night at Penang.

Here are some pictures that I managed to take from the hotel room. lol =P

-The scenery is just breathtaking-

Owh ya since it was only my parents and me staying in the hotel,
my father had to book a room with 2 bedrooms.
So I had one room with a king size bed all to myself!!!!=D
It was soooooooo comfortable.

So that night itself we went out for dinner with my father's friend
at somewhere near the beach and the wind was so strong that night.
We ate like halal chinese food.

The following day we went for breakfast at this mamak stall near the hotel
which we always went to eat our breakfast whenever we stayed in Penang.
Right after that we checked out from the hotel and went back to KL.

IKANO

Tonight my parents and I went to the IKANO Power Center. Actually my mum wanted to go there to buy some groceries at the Cold Storage, but since its already night time so we planned to have our dinner at the IKANO too. So after walking here and there searching for the right restaurant, we end up choosing the Seri Penang restaurant. Below are some pictures I took in the restaurant =D.

-This is the front cover of the menu actually =P -

-The view inside the restaurant-
(Took it while "patiently" waiting for the food)

-This is my drink which is Ice Blended Honeydew with Pudding-

-This is what I ate that is Penang Char Mee Suah-

Then after we finished eating, my mum went to the Cold Storage to buy the groceries and my dad went to the Ace Hardware Store which is just beside the restaurant. While I went to the Sony Center to have a look at my desired hp and camera =D. I found the camera at the shop but I couldn't find the hp that is W902. So I asked the guy in the shop whether that hp is in stocked and he went to checked his computer and then said that its still not released yet. Earlier when I checked in the website, it said that the hp has already been released. Maybe because its still new and all. So after that I went to checked the camera that I really wanted which is the Sony Cybershot T77. Then the same guy came and showed me all the features in the camera and it made me more impressed of the camera and making me want it more!! lol. So after a while we went back home at about 10 o'clock. huhu.

Pakeeza!

Tonight my parents and I went to a restaurant for our dinner that is at the House Of Pakeeza. It's situated at section 14 PJ which is nearby the mosque and just in front of the Academy of Balet. The food served there is traditional Moghul cuisine from the nothern part of India. These are some pictures I took from my mum's hp camera =).

-Took some pictures of the whole restaurant as viewed from the outside-

-The view inside the restaurant which is quite beautiful actually-

-The delicious food that we ate-

Although the prices of the food may be a bit pricey but its worth it for us as we had a great dinner tonight. The most delicious thing that I ate there must be the Palak Paneer which is the green stuff that you can see from the photo above. It actually consist of veggies + cheese that is blended together I suppose =P. huhu. But all in all we had a great dinner and we enjoyed the food! So if possible, go to this restaurant and try their delicious food (ceyh! promote ni!).

Typical Sunday

Posted by -NAZ-

Today was just the same old sunday. Usually on sunday the activities is always the same. Firstly my parents and I went to the Lake Club at Taman Perdana. As we are members of the club since like I was a little kid, so we can use all the facilities in the club. Today we only went to the gym to do some exercise. We usually go swimming after exercising, but not today as we are so damn exausted. So we spent like nearly 2 hours I think in the gym. I used most of the equipments including the bike, treadmill, and all those weight lifts. After finally finishing all the exercises we took our shower and went to Bangsar near the TMC Supermarket.

When we arrived there, we went to a restaurant Al-Syed which is a mamak restaurant and ate our lunch. While we were eating there we watched the Australian Open Finals at the big screen tv which showed Rafael Nadal competing against Roger Federer. It was quite a great match actually. After watching it for quite some time and finally realising that the match was no where near to be finished sooner than we thought, we went to the TMC Supermarket to shop for some groceries. Then we went back home after buying all those groceries. So this is my typical sunday activities and sometimes there is also the casual visit to my grandmother's house. But we only visit her like once in 2 weeks. So that is just it. OK done.
